FRENCH ROAST

I've been told its hard, even near impossible, that while being crazy busy working on several projects that aren't your own, but are either ones that pay the bills or that are apart of something bigger, that an artist can find time to work on their own personal projects. i like to think that I can prove that hear say wrong. Its always easier said than done when it comes to conceptualizing a short film or even clip, but with an equally passionate team or artists and friends, it makes it that much easier... i never said it isn't hard.

...I'm in the process of throwing up some more of whats in my head...i hope you guys will understand the mush in this no-word-all-action-speaking-words-mush...

If you understand whats going on with this concept than I hope you'll be pleased with a fully researched piece. The goal for this is the end of this year while hopefully finishing the BGs and development work by end of September.

I'm really trying to push my strengths and weaknesses on this one with better characters, design, animation, and story telling so I hope this piece will involve the assistance from my talented friends like Randeep Katari and Michael Dedrick

So...best of luck to me and another well received short
.. thanks again for all the support and kind comments from SMOKE THIS.

and if anybody can direct me to some great tutorials on painting clouds whether traditionally or digitally that would really be appreciated.

Nikon D40x Test

These were taken at Ribfest in Pickering, (Ontario...Canada for the out of towners). It was the late evening..about 8 pm. The sky was a navy blueish. This is my first batch of shots with the Nikon D40x (Thanks Uncle Asta). I touched up the levels and brought out the blues a bit more. She had two great expressions.... and She had no idea that i took these pics of her....or that I posted them on facebook as well. LOL.

More to come in the future.

*edit* Sorry, I'm a liar..looks like I did a lot of touching up. :)

I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE...

..Somethings that are COOL

Meet the Spy! from Алексей Денисов on Vimeo.

Check out Valve's new installment of Team Fortress 2:Meet the spy. You know I only post stuff up that I really really dig and I think this is the best yet.

It was co-directed and animated by Jamaal Bradley. Check out his blog as well.

Demo Reel 2009 from thedoogan on Vimeo.

And in light of some great animation heres a friend/ex roommate of mine Joel Beaudet, a Sheridan student who I know is gonna kick ass outta school. This is his 3rd year-end reel.

And another treat.

I did this animated skit for a Toronto Rapper by the name of Big Page. Production time was 3 months (evenings, nights, and weekends) He has big plans and he loves cartoons. Stay tuned for more stuff from his creative team and me.

WORLD STAR HIP-HOP

I got excited to finally put this up that I forgot to create a censored version. I think bleeping out certain words would give it a kick of humour for some reason. I've always enjoyed hearing the bleeps instead of the actual swearing in some dialogue...I don't know what it is.

THE GREEDY GENIUS IS HERE

It has been a great couple of months balancing the Im So Fly and it has made me realise that with a clear vision, a few months of dedication and a proficient piece of hardware, an artist create whatever it is they can imagine.
I've noticed things have been kind of dark over here. Like I posted before, I was in the middle of procution for an animated skit. I recently finished and I've been in teh middle of tieing up loose ends. It was a proect that hepled me grow in my areas of design, however animation wise I didn't feel like I accomplished much, which is okay because that wasn't the main focus. I did however discover areas of interest that I am looking forward to explore imporve on such as: story boarding, layout, effects animation, compositing, car design, cityscapes, animation in after effects and matte painting.
In the mean time I will be turning on the lights on my blog and will brighten things up a bit. look out for more animation as I try and keep my animation skills sharp by doign exercises in 3D while still strengthening my draftsmanship/design.
Thank you for all the support over the last years here on the blog-o-shpere its deeply appreciated.
It will be up soon online sice thats where my client's target audience is found. I wil lbe looking for festivals that accept films that have had exposure already so if anyone knows any please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.
